Elderberry Syrup Recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried organic elderberries (do NOT eat the berries)
- 4 cups pure water
- 3 slices of fresh ginger (thumb size pieces)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 cloves
- *Raw, unfiltered honey
- Peel from 1 lemon
- Juice from 1 Lemon
Method:
Place all ingredients except the honey and lemon juice in a pot.
Simmer for 30-minutes until liquid reduces and thickens. Strain into a sterile glass jar, allow to cool to room temperature.
Stir in 2 cups raw honey, and lemon juice to cooled syrup.
Take 1 tablespoon. of syrup daily. Children over 2 years old 1/2 to 1 teaspoon daily.
Store in fridge for up to 6 months
* Do not give products with honey to children under 2years old.
