Your First Visit

Your journey begins with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation with Dr. Scarlett. During this call, we’ll briefly discuss your health concerns, answer your initial questions, and determine whether our root-cause approach is the right fit for your needs.

If we believe we can help, and you feel we’re the right fit, the next step is to schedule a comprehensive in-person Consultation, Evaluation, and Examination. During this visit, Dr. Scarlett will review your health history, evaluate the factors contributing to your condition, and develop a personalized treatment plan designed specifically for you.

Red Lotus Wellness Center specializes in fertility, thyroid disorders, autoimmune conditions, and root-cause functional wellness, integrating Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Functional Medicine to uncover and address the underlying imbalances that may be affecting your health.

In many cases, patients are able to begin treatment the same day, provided all required paperwork has been completed.

Because Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Functional Medicine are designed to identify and address the underlying causes of illness, not simply provide temporary symptom relief, we do not offer one-time treatments for new patients. Our care is built around individualized treatment plans that provide the best opportunity for meaningful, lasting results and long-term wellness.

Actual treatment cost is determined at the consultation based on your specific medical condition and the duration of your treatment.

“Why can’t you just tell me the price?”

Since we are a medical clinic (not a spa), we cannot diagnose your medical condition or provide cost estimates over the phone or email as we will not know the specifics of your case. Any questions you have regarding your case or treatment plan will be answered during your private consultation.

What to Expect

Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor’s office. They won’t. Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles that you will hardly feel when I insert them. When I gently stimulate the needles they may produce a unique sensation that Oriental medicine calls de qi. Patients often describe de qi as a heavy, achy pressure, or spreading, traveling feeling. You may also feel an “electrical” sensation moving down the meridian pathways, though this is less common. Most patients find these acupuncture sensations deeply satisfying and leave the treatment feeling relaxed both mentally and physically.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative, so more than one treatment is necessary. For acute conditions you can expect to have 8 to 12 treatments, but you will usually begin to feel relief after the first five to eight visits. Chronic conditions may take longer to respond, depending on the type, severity, and duration of the condition. Preventative treatments and treatments for general well-being may also be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
